You cling to me
You cling to me like a baby monkey.
Your hot wet face buried in my neck.
Storm force legs clasp my waist and your fingers
Search for solace.
Now your stand
high above my head,
stooping to place
an awkward kiss
on my cheek.
Somewhere in between
you grew, laughed,
learnt and grasped
opportunities.
We will cling to each other again,
as winds and the ages
seek us out.
For now I am thankful
for your tender words
and gentle kisses.
